Jobs In Social Media Reaches 1000 Members! New Contest

Well congratulations folks - you're all part of a 1,000 member Ning group, grown organically and with a minimum of fuss.

To celebrate - I'm giving away Training DVD's to three lucky winners

The first is Selling Products Using Social Media.

This is great for those of you who either work inside or are pitching to small business owners. This covers some basics on using social media sites, auction sites, and local classifieds to boost your marketing dollar. It's an hour and a half of prime training - using Flash video.

The second is Selling Services Using Social Media.

This DVD walks you through online brand management for individuals. It's great for lawyers, accountants, and of course, consultants who want to build an online portfolio for credibility.

Finally, there's Using LinkedIn to Generate Sales Leads.

My experience as a recruiter has made me very good at building calling lists. This DVD walks you through how to sell using LinkedIn.

Contest Rules

Contest goes like this. Leave a comment on this page on what you'd like to see from the site, or leave a comment on another post (and then email me for an entry). Contest goes to December 31st. I'll put the entries into a bag, and pull out three winners, contacting you to see which DVD you want.

If you're a recruiter, I have 5 Recruiter Training DVD's you might want to look at http://store.socialmediaheadhunter.com - so if you win, you can always substitute for one of those.

I'm looking for innovative ways to use social media to promote my sites. I know I could be doing more but I can't figure out where to begin.

What I would like to see would be a more global network. Obviously the nationality of the people who join the group is not something you can do anything about, but the e.g. the approach to the job listing is quite american. Right now this is quite much about UK/US, with the rest being a minority. Is it that social media professionals outside US and UK don't exist, they just don't like it or they don't get any value out of it, I don't know. Especially in the internet age, everything is global by default.

We're working on it, Sana - I've got some people in mind that might be able to help, and we'll be looking at doing more in the new year.

Hi Jim,

Coming out of GreenlightCommunity.com, another ning network, I enjoyed having people constantly talking to one another.

We need a social media manager on jobsinsocialmedia.com who can constantly communicate with others and keep people conversating with one another. This NING network has so much value and I want everyone to benefit from it.

We need an "ambassador" here to hook people into the action of it all. I want to see more activity on the site from members and from the web moderators here. I'd love to give more of my time to this site, giving feedback and ideas, and also helping to implement them.

You definitely don't want this to be just another ning network. This network is MORE with so much valuable content. I've learned so much here and would love to be a part of the taking and giving process here on Jobs in Social Media!

Take care,
Sana
