- I have been writing online for a variety of sources for the last two years. In that time I have also developed a passion for social media and online networking. I am active on a number of social networking sites including, Twitter, MySpace, FaceBook, LinkedIn, Digg, YouTube, JamsBio, Twittermoms, and GovLoop to name a few. I've been looking to not just continue writing for online sources but to also branch into online community management. I enjoy interacting with others online and truly have found a passion in finding ways to use Web 2.0 to make life better.
As far as my online writing experience, I am currently a music columnist for JamsBio Magazine, a column on the music website JamsBio. I also write for RealityShack.com where I write recaps and commentary for TV shows as well as conduct celebrity interviews. I have blogs on both blogger and wordpress as well as a blog on GovLoop.com, a website for government employees & have a blog on Twitter Moms as well. I also write for the political website, Politics Unlocked. I have published articles on many different topics on Helium (where I am a site steward for the TV channel genre), Type-a Mom, and Associated Content.
I attended school at The Academy of Radio Broadcasting (which included extensive training in copywriting as well as news journalism). I worked as a DJ for a Rock station and also spent many years as an Administrative Assistant and am a small business owner. I am also going back to school for Marketing & Political Science.
I currently run a small daycare out of my home, so I work my freelance schedule around my down time during the day & evenings. In the next year I hope to be able to switch to working full-time in community management in some capacity along with my online freelance writing.
